Ever since moving to Lochland, Pierre had been open to exploring new places, and going along to events that came up to see what they were like. Life here was quite different to what he was used to, but he liked it. Of course, there were still plenty of things that he missed about Zürich and Switzerland, but he was also enjoying himself here. A change of scenery had been exactly what he had needed.

It was little things like he found himself a bit happier, a tad more relaxed, more full of life. He had put on the weight that he had lost after that attack and had reached 60 kgs for the first time in a year and half, and he was happy with that.

He loved his job and had no complaints about anything. His apartment was all nicely set up, and he had a big tropical fish tank and a smaller marine one, and he loved sitting and watching both of them.

But tonight, he had come out to take a look around the Ice Festival. It certainly seemed like an interesting festival, and he didn't have anything else planned apart from staying home, so he decided to head out and take a look.

Feeling a little tired after a long week and not knowing how late he would be, he put his diaphragm pacer on. With the control box strapped to his back you couldn't notice it once he had dressed up warmly. It was just easier if he was feeling tired to use it, rather than having his blood oxygen levels dropping down to much.

He stopped to get himself a hot chocolate before heading off to take a good look around, taking a sip of his drink and accidentally bumping into someone. Luckily the lid on his cup was on firmly and he didn't manage to spill any of it on either himself or the other person, but he did feel bad for walking into them in the first place.

"Oh, i'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where i was going. Are you okay?" Among all the American voices, his Swiss one stood out rather well.

Anya went to last year's Ice Carnival (as part of her blind date) and so, she was curious about this year's Ice Festival. What made it different? What was similar to last year's? Her brother was pretty interested in seeing the Festival, so she asked him if he wanted to join her. With a grin touching his lips, Jacob agreed and they proceeded to make plans. She had to work during the day, so she would stop home to get changed and then head off to meet him.

Jacob was fine with that, since he also had some things to take care of beforehand..

The appointed day had arrived and Anya was sitting at work with excitement. Aside from movie nights and tag-teaming on errands, Anya hadn't gotten to spend much quality time with her brother lately. It'll be a fun night, she thought to herself. Anya was sure of it! As soon as her shift was done and things were all closed up, Anya went home and got herself changed. She slipped into a pair of black leggings and a red knitted dress. Her favorite necklace hung around her neck, a silvery bird on a simple chain. Anya touched up her make-up and before long, she was set to meet up with Jacob. When she arrived at the Ice Festival, her eyes seemed to go wide with awe! The place looked amazing! She spent a few moments taking in the overall sight, before shifting her focus to looking for her brother. He should've beaten her here, so where was he? She had glanced down to pull out her phone, curious to see if there were any messages from him. She didn't notice the man until they bumped into one another..

Her phone tried to slip out her hand, but she caught it before it could fall. She glanced up at the man and then the hot chocolate in his hand, she was glad that she didn't cause him to spill it. She would've felt bad and offered to buy him a new one. "Oh, i'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where i was going. Are you okay?" he said, as she glanced back up. She hesitated for a second, her jaw hanging open a bit, before she started shaking her head. "Oh, it's okay. I wasn't paying attention, I was..I-I'm okay. No harm done." she responded, slightly stumbling over her words. She tucked her phone into her coat pocket, forgetting about why she needed it for the moment.

She gave the man a friendly smile. "I'm Anya, by the way. Who might you be?" she soon added, while holding out her hand. A moment came and went.

OOC: Hope you don't mind my girl jumping in ^^

Pierre wasn't bothered at all that he was here by himself. Sometimes company was nice, but for the most part he wasn't bothered doing things by himself. After all, doing things with other people meant having a little bit of trust, and trusting other people wasn't something he was good at. After all that had happened in his past, it probably wasn't any wonder that he had trouble with trusting people.

Hell, it had taken him until he was twenty-seven to start dating, and that had ended in disaster two years later with him being attacked by her drunk brother and two of his friends.

It wasn't an experience that Pierre wanted to repeat any time soon, so despite the odd moment of loneliness he was fine by himself. He found odd solace in sitting in a comfortable chair in his apartment and watching his fish swimming about.

The women Pierre had bumped into seemed a little startled, and he felt really bad for not looking where he was going and bumping into her. She had come close to dropping her phone as well, but luckily managed to catch it. That would have been horrible if she had dropped her phone and managed to break it.

They both apologized, she stumbled over her words a little bit and he still felt rather bad for banging into her.

But soon enough, she seemed to gather herself, managing a friendly smile and introducing herself as Anya.

"Nice to meet you Anya," He said with a friendly smile of his own, reaching out to shake her offered hand with the one that wasn't holding the cup of hot chocolate. "I'm Pierre."

His accent still made him stand out quite well, as there was no mistaking that it was American. Quite often it seemed to be followed with 'And where are you from?', which sometimes got a little tedious having to say the same thing over and over again.

Not that Pierre was ever going to complain, they were being friendly and he would rather that than being rude and unfriendly.

"I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I have never been here before, but this place looks amazing, i've never seen anything quite like it."

OOC: That's fine, I was happy for anyone to jump in.

Anya would've felt bad if she spilled the man's hot chocolate, especially if it ended up hurting him in the process. There was no harm done, however. She was glad for that. Once the bit of awkwardness was done, politeness took over and she proceeded to introduce herself to the man. She figured it wouldn't hurt. "Nice to meet you Anya," Anya caught sight of his friendly smile, as he took her offered hand and shook it. "I'm Pierre." he had said. She gave him a little nod of the head. He wasn't familiar to her, she would've remembered his accent. It was unique and it suited him.

"Nice to meet you, Pierre." she responded, as the shaking stopped and her hand fell to her side.

She was tempted to ask him about his accent, but then again, he probably gets that kind of question on a constant basis. Did she want to be among them? "I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I have never been here before, but this place looks amazing, i've never seen anything quite like it." His voice broke through her train of thought. She nodded her head, her smile still in place. "Yeah, it does. There was something like this last year, an Ice Carnival, but this..it's beautiful." Anya replied, making a slight gesture to the sight around them. If she had to compare the two, Anya would have to say that this year's event was a bit better than last year's. A moment came and went. "Were you waiting for someone?" she asked.

It was a fair-enough question, so she figured it was okay to ask..

OOC: Well, that's good ^^ Sorry if the reply's a little short!

Part of Pierre was a little surprised when Anya didn't immediately ask 'Where are you from?' upon hearing his accent, which he thought was nice. It was something that he did get a lot, but he honestly didn't mind asking. His name was French but his accent wasn't, which tended to confuse some people a bit. So while he was happy to say that he was from Switzerland, it did get a little tiring answering that same question just about everywhere he went.

The festival seemed quite nice, the sculputres and everything that was here looked amazing, and he was suddenly glad that he had decided to come. Sure, he probably would have been more comfortable at home by himself, but he did enjoy getting out as well. Plus this was something different, unlike anything he had done before, so he was looking forwards to having a good look around.

He wondered if this was a regular thing, something that happened every year, with each year better and bigger than the last. From what Anya said there was one last year, but it hadn't been as impressive as this years one. If so, he would enjoy this year's festival and look forwards to attending again when it came again next year. If he was still here that was, but he had no plans at the moment to move away.

"I was wondering if this was a regular thing, but i'm glad that I decided to come out after all." While he did need some time to himself to unwind and relax, he also enjoy getting out and doing things. Sure, he found it hard to trust people, but for the most part because of his friendly, happy appearance they would never really know until they got to know him better or started pushing him to much.

She was asking if he was waiting for someone, and he shook his head in response. That was, again, probably down to trust issues. While he would love for a partner to spend his life with, he had never found anyone that he really trusted either. The last person he had trusted, the only one he had trusted enough to start dating, had let him down bigtime and he didn't know if he was prepared to take that risk again, as much as he wanted to.

"No, i'm here by myself. You?" She seemed nice, easy to talk to, but he didn't want to keep her if there was someone else who she was here to meet.

In the back of her mind, Anya had wondered if Pierre was surprised when she didn't immediately ask about his accent. If the roles were reversed and she was in his position, she would be surprised. Besides, the subject was bound to come up sooner or later. So for the moment, Anya will be patient and let him bring it up on his own terms. She won't rush him. "I was wondering if this was a regular thing, but i'm glad that I decided to come out after all." Anya slightly nodded her head. "Well, that's good. And I think this is starting to become a regular thing here. I don't remember anything like this happening when I was younger. Then again, I did spend some years away.." she replied and then let her voice fade out, before she started rambling. If she were to start rambling, then she might open up to someone she just met. Pierre didn't need to deal with that upon meeting her.

He came here to enjoy the sights and perhaps relax, not to listen to a woman's rambles.

Anya asked him if he was meeting him, since it was a fair enough question to ask. She hasn't heard her phone go off or see Jacob anywhere, so who knows if he'll actually show up? It wouldn't be the first time that he's forgotten about her and gotten into other plans instead. She loves her brother to death, but sometimes, she's been tempted to tie a leash to him and drag him along with her. Anya didn't have to wait long for Pierre to respond. "No, i'm here by myself. You?"

She knew that her question would be turned back around, so she shouldn't have been surprised. A brief moment came and went, as she took a deep breath. The cold air seemed to coat her throat. "Well, I was supposed to meet my brother here, but he seems to have the tendency to forget plans and make new ones. I love him, but..it gets annoying sometimes." she answered with a bit of a smile. Pierre seemed like a nice-enough guy, she wouldn't mind getting to know him if given the chance. Making new friends is a good thing, right?

The way Americans celebrated things was still quite new and different to Pierre. They just made a huge deal over everything, and there always seemed to be a new one coming around. He certainly enjoyed seeing what they where, what people did, and enjoying some of the festivities. It didn't really matter so much that this was a new one, but it still looked good. In a way he liked that new ones seemed to come up, because it was something new to attend, to have a look at. After all, he didn't usually travel away much, mainly because it was such a big hassle. The most travelling he did was trips down to New York to see medical specialists.

She talked a bit, but he didn't mind that. He could do so himself, even if he was always careful not to stray into anything that got to personal. Like if people asked why he had moved here he just said something along the lines of wanting a change of scenery. Relatively generic but enough to satisfy most people. Certainly he wasn't going to go into detail about being attacked and raped.

"That's good, I will look forwards to coming out to visit again next year then, if i'm still here that is." He had no plans to move away, but he had no control over what the future held. Something might change, something might happen. Or he could die, that was a very real risk with his medical condition.

He wasn't sure if she was meeting someone or not, certainly if she was he didn't want to keep her from meeting that person. But it seemed she was meant to be meeting her brother. Her brother, who hadn't shown yet and had a tendency to forget plans.

Pierre's sister had never been like that, mind you she was a lot older than he was and had raised him most of his childhood. She had always been exactly on time to things she did make, quite often dragging a reluctant Pierre along with her. There had been the odd other person who had been forgetful, but Pierre had only had a couple of close friends and both had been pretty good. Pierre had never been one for going out much anyway.

But it still wasn't good to be forgotten about, he knew that feeling. "I'm sorry to hear that, hopefully he does still show up, even if he is a little late. My sister was always on time, but she is quite a lot older." Eighteen years to be exact, which was quite a large gap. His parents first four children were all planned, Pierre was the one who came along unplanned when they were fourty, three months early and with plenty of medical problems.

"I could understand how that might get a little annoying though. I'm usually pretty good with keeping plans. I have regular medical appointments to keep, so I just have a habit of putting everything in my phone and diary at home." The diary was very much a back up, everything went in that as well as his phone and his computer as well. It was important to his health that he didn't miss appointments, and he always took the time to organize things early so it was all ready when the time came.

Not everyone was like that though. Most people didn't need to see a whole number of specialist medical personnel on a regular basis either, or live with a life threatening medical condition.

There was something interesting about Pierre. He was obviously new around here. At least new to her, since she never saw him before. She would've remembered his accent. Anya certainly wouldn't mind getting to know him better, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be an easy task. If he allowed it, she would be willing to take on the task. "That's good, I will look forwards to coming out to visit again next year then, if i'm still here that is." She slightly tilted her head as he spoke, taking in his words. "Sounds like a fair-enough plan to me." she had replied. She was going to be around next year, that's for sure. She didn't have plans to leave this town anytime soon.

This was her home now..

When he asked her if she was meeting anyone, Anya told him the truth. Her brother had promised to meet her here, but if she got here first...that usually means he forgot about meeting her and he made other plans with friends. He did have a life, so she should be used to it by now. It doesn't mean that she likes being forgotten. Far from it, actually. She should be upset with him, but it seems to be operating procedure with Jacob. Pierre seemed to have a good response on the subject. "I'm sorry to hear that, hopefully he does still show up, even if he is a little late. My sister was always on time, but she is quite a lot older." Anya nodded her head as he talked. Her lips cracked into a little smile. "I see." she began. After a moment, she continued with "I'm the older one, so it's usually me keeping him in line.." Out of the two of them, Jacob was the flaky one.

Anya liked to be on time for things. If she can be early, then Anya will try and do so.

Pierre spoke up once more. "I could understand how that might get a little annoying though. I'm usually pretty good with keeping plans. I have regular medical appointments to keep, so I just have a habit of putting everything in my phone and diary at home." Anya nodded her head, as he talked. She could only wonder what he means by having regular medical appointments. She didn't want to ask him, in case he wasn't in the mood to talk about it. She could relate, when it comes down to sharing personal things. There were some things that Anya never wants to share with others, unless she had to. Like her ex-boyfriend and the aftermath of her breaking up with him, for instance. "Same here. Unless something happens that is out of my control, I stick to the plans that I made." she replied. Then, her pocket buzzed a couple of times. She glanced down and then back up at Pierre.

"Excuse me for a moment." she said, not wanting to be rude to him by just going for her phone. She managed to pull it out of her pocket and looked at the screen. Sure enough, she had a couple of texts from Jacob. "Hey, I'm sorry but I won't be able to meet you at the Ice Festival." one read. Her lips became slightly pursed. She shifted onto the next one, which read "A friend of mine is having a really bad night and I need to go check up on them." Anya's jaw dropped a tiny bit. Any annoyance that she might've felt towards Jacob..it faded away upon reading that last text.

This was an understandable excuse.

She quickly typed out a reply: "Ok. Let me know if you need me to come help or anything. Go take care of your friend." Once she hit "send," Anya tucked her phone back into her pocket and looked up at Pierre. Her smile seemed a little sheepish, as she met his eyes. "That was him texting. A friend of his is having a bad night and he wants to be there for them." Anya explained.

Pierre's sister in many ways hadn't felt like a sister, instead she had more felt like a mother. Being so much older and how she had raised him for most of his childhood meant she just didn't feel like a sister. Sure, she didn't feel like his real mother or replace her, but she felt like an odd mixture of both. In some ways he felt close to his sister but in other ways he didn't. Most likely, if his brother-in-law David hadn't been like he had, Pierre would be closer to his sister. As it was, he spoke to her regularly but quite often conversation was nice and polite, not straying into anything controversial. Talking about his life here was an easy conversation point, something he could happily talk about without really saying anything personal. He was always careful even with those close family members; He never wanted to reveal to his sister about what her husband had done. Whether she believed him or not, it was going to destroy their family and he didn't want to be responsible for that.

"It was a bit like that, but I never really got into much trouble." That hadn't stopped David, he had picked on Pierre whether he had been good or not. Pierre had resisted a little bit at first, but had quickly learned that fighting back was futile and just had learned to not react at all.

While Pierre wasn't one of those people who sat down and planned every little thing in his day, he did like to have a reasonable plan about what was going to happen. Especially if he had anything important like medical appointments or had to go away for something, it was always easier if he had a basic plan of what was going to happen. To know where he was going to stay and how to get to the hospital or where ever his appointment was going to be held, and how long it was going to take. But it was also important to be flexible just in case something happened. You never quite knew when something unpredictable or unplanned was going to pop up, and it was essential to be able to adapt.

"Having a basic plan is good to have especially when you have places to be, but being adaptable is also a good skill. Sometimes you just have to forget the plan and be flexible."

Then her phone went, and he was happy to give her space to answer. He did appreciate that she asked to be excused and it was nice that she did so, instead of just pulling out her phone like other people might do.

It seemed that her brother, who she was meant to be meeting, wasn't able to attend. Pierre didn't know how trust worthy the brother was or how much the excuse could be believed, but he wasn't Pierre's brother so it wasn't his place to judge. But if it was true, being there for a friend that was having a bad night sounded like a worthy excuse.

Pierre himself wasn't the type to ask for help, and even on the odd instance he needed it was reluctant to ask or admit that he did. He was more the type to insist that he was fine, putting across that he was fine. It took someone who knew him reasonable well to insist otherwise, and Pierre usually found that afterwards he did feel better.

"It's not good that he can't make it, but I think it is good that he wants to help and support his friend. Sometimes we all need a little bit of support, even if we don't realize it at the time." She was easy to talk to, and while he wasn't going to press her into anything, he was happy to talk with her a little bit longer and maybe look around a bit more.

If she wanted some company that was. But he was hesitant about asking her that.

After their mother died, Anya had taken on the maternal role a little bit. She didn't need to do all that much, since Jacob was old enough to take care of most things himself. Anya just looked out for him, made sure he did his homework...simple things like that. In return, he looked out for his big sister and made sure she was ok. When her ex-boyfriend had tried to hold her hostage, Jacob was there. She had a broken leg at the time, so she was thankful for her little brother coming to her defense..

They seemed to have some common ground between the two of them - they both have a sibling. The only difference is that Pierre is the younger sibling, while Anya was the older one. "It was a bit like that, but I never really got into much trouble." She had nodded her head when Pierre spoke up. Jacob liked getting into a bit of trouble when they were younger. In some of those instances, he was lucky that she was the one to catch him in the act. If their father caught him, he would've been grounded for a long time. Now, that's not to say that Miss Anya was a good girl. She had her own rebellious streak back then, hanging with the wrong sort of crowd and what not. The reason why she got a broken leg was because her boyfriend had been driving while intoxicated and they got into an accident. That was her wake-up call to shape up a bit. She still enjoys having a few drinks now and then, but not like how she used to. She never liked drinking until she threw up..

As Pierre responded to her comment about sticking to plans, Anya nodded her head and couldn't help but to agree with him. "Having a basic plan is good to have especially when you have places to be, but being adaptable is also a good skill. Sometimes you just have to forget the plan and be flexible." Being adaptable was definitely a good skill to have. Things do happen in life. You may want to control it, but sometimes, you can't. You just have to roll with it. "I couldn't have said it better myself." she simply said. What else could she say?

He basically took the words right out of her mouth.

Her buzzing phone became a brief distraction, as she received texts from her brother. A part of her might be bummed at the change in plans, but she understood his reasoning. Anya would be the same way - except she would've called instead of texted. "It's not good that he can't make it, but I think it is good that he wants to help and support his friend. Sometimes we all need a little bit of support, even if we don't realize it at the time." Anya nodded her head and smiled, as Pierre spoke. He had a good head on his shoulders, she can tell. "Indeed. He looks out for the people he cares about. There was a time when I was thankful for his presence.." she responded, giving another nod of the head. She vaguely eluded to the time when her ex-boyfriend tried to hold her hostage until she took him back.

If Pierre were to press about it, then well...she kinda cracked open that can of worms...

A few moments came and went. Since Pierre wasn't meeting someone and Jacob had somewhere else to be, Anya wondered if he would be interested in some company. She looked over at him and after taking a deep breath, she asked "Do you want to go look around the festival together?" She wasn't one to boldly ask someone a question like that, but she might as well step out of her comfort zone and try it out. Another moment or two passed, as Anya waited for Pierre's response..

When it came to siblings, if Pierre had to mention them he only ever mentioned his sister. He never mentioned that she wasn't his only sibling, just the only surviving one. Mentioning that he actually had four older siblings, only one was still alive, would bring to many questions. Having to explain that three of his older siblings, along with his father, had died when the plane he was flying crashed wasn't something he wanted to talk about. Even if he had only been five when it happened, but it was really the end of his happy childhood. It was what lead to his mother killing herself a matter of months later, and Pierre being left an orphan at the age of five.

While the majority of his childhood had been hard, things had been easier once he had moved away to study. His sister and her husband had thought it was a little odd that he had chosen to study in Zürich instead of Geneva where they lived, but to Pierre it had been ideal. It wasn't just because David hated Zürich and wasn't likely to visit, although that was definitely a strong selling point, but more because he wanted to be far enough away for them to have no influence on him. So he could do his own thing, to heal on his own and to live his own life how he wanted to.

Sure, he still had a long way to go on the healing front really, there were still strong mental scars that still ruled his life even after so many years. But he was reasonably happy with his life. He was his own man, he had a job he loved, a nice apartment, and he always got lots of pleasure from watching his fish. Sometimes he got a little bit lonely, but that was probably a downside due to his inability to really trust anyone. That fear of close, intimate contact which had lasted from his childhood abuse.

When Anya mentioned about a time when she was thankful for her brother's presence, that he looked after those he cared about, he wondered if she was thinking about a particular incident. Maybe she was, people tended to do that, but Pierre wasn't going to press her about it. In many ways it seemed a little rude, but it was probably mainly because he wouldn't want anyone really pressing him about his past; That wasn't something he wanted to talk about. When people asked why he had moved her, he just gave them an answer saying that he felt like he needed a change. Certainly, he wasn't going to mentioned it was because he was struggling to cope after being beaten and raped by his girlfriend's brother and two of his friends, and then the girl had dumped him soon after.

"Everyone needs people like that in their life. I know I have had times where I have been grateful for the support of someone." While he wasn't the sort of guy to have lots of friends, there had been a couple who had been there for many years, and had been there to offer him support when he needed it, particularly after that attack in 2016. Of course, he had never let them know him well enough to know him perfectly or all of his secrets, but they had still been there, and he had been grateful for that.

Despite how he was naturally friendly and happy, he was also still incredibly shy at times. In a work environment he was fine, he never had any problems, but outside out that it was a different story. He was always hesitant to ask someone to do something with him, more so if he didn't know them. It wasn't that he didn't want to, but a combination of factors. Usually, once he got to know someone a bit and he started to know what they liked to do and how busy they were it was easier to ask someone to do something.

But it still took time for him to work up the courage to ask, especially if it was a stranger. SO while he wanted to ask if she wanted to spend some time at the festival with him, to look around, he was afraid to ask. She might think it creepy, a strange guy asking her to do something with him. Or she might think it was a date, that he was coming on to her.

As it was, she was the one who asked first. Boldly as well, something that he had never been good at. Being bold wasn't usually the opposite to what he usually was. The common theme was people saying he needed to stand up for himself and be more assertive, and not let people walk all over him when things got difficult.

A relic from his difficult childhood that he had never been able to get rid off. Of course, he had never really pushed himself to do so either.

"That sounds lovely, I would be happy to, just so long as i'm not intruding." There it was, at the end like usual, showing that shy, submissive side. She had asked him so she must be interested and not worried about spending time with him, and he was still worried about getting in her way or her thinking of him as creepy.

Anya didn't know what to say if Pierre were to ask about what she meant. If she was to be honest, she wouldn't want to open that can of worms right now. She didn't want to think about that part of her life, because that's all in the past. Why dwell on the past, anyway? After she got into that accident and broke her leg, Anya turned her life around. She realized that she could have fun while being a responsible person, that there was more to her life than drinking and getting crazy all the time.

Ben didn't see it that way and therefore, she broke up with him..

Pierre's voice had seemed to break through her train of thought. "Everyone needs people like that in their life. I know I have had times where I have been grateful for the support of someone." She looked at him as he spoke. They looked to be on the same page, she noticed. That's a good thing, right? "There are times when one might think they don't need other people's help, but those are the times when they need them the most.." she replied with a smile. Anya could relate to those words. When her mother passed away, she tried to grieve on her own. She didn't speak to her father at first, no matter how hard he tried. She tried to bottle things up and deal with it alone. She knew what she was feeling, so why did she need anyone else?

But now that she's thinking about it, perhaps there was something else she could've done. Or what else she could've wanted. A hug, perhaps?

When there was a moment hanging in the air between them, Anya chose the bold move of asking Pierre if he wanted to go look around the festival together. He couldn't see it, but her heart was pounding inside of her chest. Anya had been hiding in her comfort zone for so long, it was about time that she took some initiative. Would it have been better if he asked? Maybe, maybe not. For all she knew, he was worrying about how she might perceive his offer. Would it be creepy? Perhaps, but Anya didn't believe that he had it in him. Unless he was hiding it really well, but so far, she was enjoying his company. He seemed easy enough to talk to, he seemed like someone she would want to be friends with. A moment or two came and went, as she waited for Pierre's answer. "That sounds lovely, I would be happy to, just so long as i'm not intruding." A friendly smile touched upon her lips. There was perhaps a second where she thought he would decline, but he didn't.

She was happy about that.

"You're not intruding, Pierre. Not in the least." she answered. If she thought of him as being creepy or making her feel uncomfortable, she wouldn't have asked him to join her..

OOC: Is it bad that I want to hug Pierre right now? ^^ I like him! lol

Quite often, realizing that you needed help was one of the hardest things you could do. Pierre was somewhere around there. He knew that it would probably be good for him to go and talk to someone about his past, that it could probably help a lot, he just couldn't bring himself to. Because that meant talking about it, and that was the last thing he wanted to do for a whole lot of reasons. Part of him was unsure whether it would actually help or not.

For the most part, Pierre had been on his own. It had taken him a long time even when he had started dating Elena to start to open up properly, and he has only really started to feel like he could trust her when he had been attacked by her brother and she had dumped him. As well as all those other feelings, he could help but feel betrayed. He had started to trust her, and she had just gone along and hurt him. All in all it made him nervous about putting him in a place like that again, even if deep down he wanted to.

"I agree with that." There had definitely been people supporting him, even if he hadn't been really close to them. Colleagues and acquantances who had asked about him and tried to help out, the few people he tentatively considered friends. But he had still allowed only so much, a deep seated fear of trusting someone forcing him to keep them all at a distance and refuse to allow them to get to close.

When it came to asking other people if they wanted to do something, Pierre honestly wasn't very good at it. He always worried about getting in their way, how they might be busy or not want to, or whether him asking might come across as creepy or not. He knew that a man asking a women out could be seen as creepy, and that was the last thing he wanted to do. It was why he never flirted and always treated everyone with respect no matter who they were. Of course, that was how he believed people should be treated, but still.

But he couldn't help but feel happy when she said that he wasn't intruding, and couldn't hide his smile.

"That's good, i'm glad because that is the last thing that I want to do. Would you like to look at the sculptures first? They look really interesting. There is a place in Switzerland that is like a Ice Palace with tunnels you can walk through and sculptures. My sister took me there with her two children when I was in my teens, but I can't remember a whole lot of it because the thin air made me quite light headed so her husband had to take me down before I got really sick." From what he remembered they had been quite neat, however he was hesitant to make an attempt to visit them again just in case the same thing happened.
