 Housewarming 1 - Shopping, Open
María Elena Baker
 Posted: May 19 2017, 08:15 AM

It was such a beautiful day, at least from Elena's point of view. She was happy to be out of the house, and setting things up for a small housewarming dinner she planned on hosting.

Hosting, cooking, and seeing people enjoy a fine dinner was definitely close to the top of things that made Elena happy. She loved company, she loved taking care of people, and a dinner party would give her the chance to have both.

That, and it would keep per busy enough to forget that she hadn't heard from her husband. It would help her forget that there wouldn't be a kid coming into the world in the next few months. Oh, well. She was recovering well enough. They were both young and healthy, they could try again soon. For now, she would have fun playing the hostess.

It was great that she had managed to get the dining room ready, and the house looked pretty nice. Sure, there was a detail here and there to be arranged, but it was in living conditions, and the areas the guests would get to see were all in order.

Now, she had to get shopping. While she didn't have a guest list yet - she would have to start getting in touch with old friends and see who would be willing to come -, everything she would buy could be used around the house anyway, and Elena always cooked enough for people to go for seconds, and even thirds, so there would be no shortage of food even if everyone she knew decided to come.

She would have to find her damn phone book in one of the still unpacked boxes, and maybe get all of her contacts down on her phone. Had she done it before, things would be a lot easier now. Oh, well, maybe she'd be lucky enough to run into an old acquaintance while shopping?

Shrugging, Elena went for a cart and checked her list. It seemed like everything was covered. Chicken seemed like a pretty safe bet for those who ate meat, and she would have rice, pasta and some hearty side dishes in case anyone didn't eat meat for any reason. Now, she just needed to find her way around the store and finish her shopping as quickly as possible, before maybe treating herself to a nice cup of coffee somewhere.
