Lawrence. You better werk.

Lawrence, or Lori, is a barista/dance instructor by day and a drag queen by night, but their career isn’t the only thing that changes once the sun goes down. They can be quite shy during in normal, day-to-day interactions, but at night their energy goes into overdrive as they try to keep up with the other drag queens, who tend to grab much more attention with their loud personalities.

Because of their jobs they can usually be found at The Pointe Dance Studio on Main Street, Looseleaf Books or The Odyssey at night. They also tend to hand flyers to promote dance studio events at various locations around town that have plenty of foot traffic such as Unity Park and Main Street.

While it’s not yet an official shelter, their previous foster mom Ariel takes in plenty of foster kids on the floor above her dance studio where she lives with Lawrence, so they tend to interact with youth all the time and has a deep want to help them though they know resources are limited.

They’ve recently taken to collecting rocks and maps which deck their bedroom! If they had it their way, they might even go to school to study geology, but that’s a far-off dream as they consider their dance career to be more important.

Romance: This has always been tricky for Lawrence when gender is thrown into the mix. They refuse to label their sexuality as people tend to make assumptions about their gender, and then try to force their own idea of what Lawrence should be based on who’s attracted to. They honestly couldn’t care less about the gender of who they’re dating, but the person has to be understanding of Lawrence’s gender identity and the fact that their busy life will always come first.

Friends: Lawrence can get along with most people, but obviously won’t if that person is bigoted. All Lawrence asks for is some respect when they ask people to use their preferred pronouns, and if you get that right, you’re in! They enjoy dancing, making costumes, collecting/studying rocks and maps, listening to music, and getting their hair done so those are some things they could potentially bond over with other people.
