Cooper kept his cool despite the fact they wanted to quickly defend themselves against facts, he turned to Francesca first his expression neutral. "No I don't just like you don't have to speak what I'm guessing is Italian when everyone present can speak English as if you're intentionally hiding something. I'm here to help you but I can't help you, unless you fully allow me to so in very least I can make sure you comply to medical aid and under restraints if I have to. Being handcuffed isn't a threat, it doesn't mean you're going to jail it would only mean I'm taking you into temporary custody until you're checked out which could take all of five minutes of your time."

But he was talking to two people and slowly turned to looked at Lenny now, "Yes Mr. Neroni seriously I take your health and safety very seriously." Lenny however then glanced back to him, saying his piece of crime stuff, DNA and how they were attacked, how they were hurt, and perhaps even if Cooper's own powers of observation were enough to recognize the fact she was injured. He was obviously getting heated only to further tell Cooper what he should be doing rather than bitching at them. Cooper took a deep breath and maintained an expression of neutrality.

"I understand how you feel, trust me." Oh how he did, but Cooper now spoke slower though not in an insulting way but rather a soft and slow tone so what he said couldn't be missed to taken aggressively.

"However without your written and legally binding statement of what happened here I legally don't know the story nor have a basis to investigate further. Or follow up with an arrest for this assault. DNA takes time, but your statement even if I have to write it and you sign it is crucial for me and my fellow officers here, as law enforcement officers to then apply the elements of a crime that have taken place and charge the criminals accordingly. So in the statements describe what has happened, names, clothing, descriptions, types of a car maybe how you know them and I promise I'll do my best to investigate this and get these criminals off the street."

Cooper pulled an pen from his breast pocket, clicking it as he offered it to Lenny. "Any questions.. but like I said it's voluntary you can refuse to press charges."

It’s a threat of action. Threat being… at least hostile, I think. Which is unfriendly, or opposed which…” Frankie sighed, eyes closed tight, “Whatever you think of throwing authority around… isn’t doing shit for that whole ‘I’m here to help.’ Because nothing has gotten better, but it does feel like its gotten worse.

Frankie did appreciate Lenny having her back. More so than that, he was considerate of her feelings. She didn’t need someone going “yeah, what she said,” but something more, with how she felt right now. Lenny did go on about DNA and how they could track the guys from that. Frankie was confused. “When did they leave DNA? Our blood’s on shit, but I don’t remember them bleeding on something.” Then again, why was she talking? She didn’t think DNA was some magic that police could use to track a couple of guys in a small town. Then again, it was a small town. Which made it more dangerous not to report them, but probably easier to find them. Ugh. She was tired, and thinking hurt her head.

The officer claimed he knew how they felt, changing his tone, but not really making Frankie believe him. He went on to talk about why he needed them to fill out papers and Frankie let her head rest against the couch, no longer remembering that she was definitely getting blood on it, eyes closed. “I can’t write a fucking narration…I don’t… I’m too tired to focus on it.” She took a deep breath, feelings tempting that edge toward crying. “If you write it maybe, I don’t know if it will make sense.” She pinched the bridge of her nose, feeling her eyes were too warm to not be crying at least a little. She really didn’t want to be dealing with all of this right now.

So much had gone on, but as Lenny let Cooper have his say, all Lenny could think about was how much he really hated cops. He tried not to glare too much but he definitely wasn't looking at Cooper nicely.

"We're not fucking hiding anything, it's our language." Lenny butted in, rolling his eyes. Couldn't the officer see what had happened? His dark glare towards Cooper turned into a frown when Frankie asked if the men had bled on anything. He shook his head. "I... I dunno. Fingerprints then, or, shit - something. There's gotta be something you can do." He'd turned to Cooper, looking at him accusingly for, so far, making his and Frankie's lives worse and doing nothing visible to catch the perpetrators.

Apparently it was down to he and Frankie to write out everything that had happened. Lenny shook his head, in agreement with Frankie when she said she was too tired to write it out. He glanced to her, noticing the deep breath, concern filtering in through the foggy headspace he kept drifting to.

He put his arm around Frankie and gave her a slight squeeze. It hurt his side where she pressed against him and he tried not to wince too much, but despite Lenny's claims of not wanting to go to the hospital, something was obviously wrong. He tried to ignore it for the time being while they had a cop in their faces. His gaze focused on Cooper. "I can say what happened if you'll write it down. Just.. what they look like or whatever, whatever you need to know that might help you catch them." Lenny sighed, his face feeling drawn and tired as he spoke. He glanced to Frankie a few times, checking on her, willing to give an attempt at a statement if it meant she didn't have to.

"Then feel free to file a formal complaint with the department, Miss Nazarro if you feel as if I'm threatening, abusing my authority or being hostile." Listening to Lenny now he could only glance at the man before looking back at Frankie when she replied at her dubiousness of the suspects leaving behind any form of DNA. So Cooper was silent for the time being as his eyes shifted back to Lenny who didn't have an answer for her, except for the concept of finger prints.

They wanted to not write their own statements which was fine he only really needed a signature to accompany it. He pulled back his pen and slipped the statements under the clip of his clip board and jotted down the date, location and his name and badge number. Then quickly jotted down on the top line that it was written by Sergeant Tanaka at the behest of the victim due to injury. He turned to see the ambulance rolling up without it's sirens or lights on as he looked back to see the EMT's jumping from the back door opening it and grabbing thier medical bag and giving a nod to Cooper.

Cooper in turn looked to Frankie, "Miss Nazarro, you go ahead and get checked out and get something for the pain." But he then looked over to Lenny. "And Mr. Neroni I'll take your statement while she gets check out alright." Cooper looked and nodded to the EMT's and gestured to Frankie and they walked up to escort her back to the ambulance to sit and address her injuries. Cooper then turned back to Lenny writing down the current time. "Alright Mr. Neroni starting from the beginning like you're telling me a story alright? But first. Cooper knew it was about to be an earful but he was a faster writer and he knew what to write and when to write it.

Though just to follow up it he pressed the record button on his body cam, "Just letting you know this is currently being recorded, I'm Sergeant Tanaka interviewing Mr. Neroni. Go ahead Mr. Neroni."

The officer decided to continue to be an asshole, this time in a slightly different way. He told Frankie that if she thought he was being so bad, she was free to file a formal complaint. She looked at him like she was unable to understand how he was being this dense. Was dense the word? No. She just stared at him silently until she came up with her response. “Going over someone’s head doesn’t change their attitude, so… No grazie.” That was probably enough for her. She was trying to communicate with a human being, and his response was that she should file something. All that said to her was that he sucked with people, and she was really not in the mood to try to banter or put up with an argument, and she sure as shit wasn’t filing anything if she could avoid it.

The asshole decided now was a good time to remind Frankie again that he didn’t actually care about her wellbeing. In fact, her wellbeing was a nice convenient weapon. And since he had threatened to cuff them for resisting the oh so merciful medical incarceration, Frankie had no autonomy. “I don’t want to leave Lenny…” Frankie argued, but because she certainly didn’t see the officer as much more than a bully who seemed like he was at least in a good enough state of mind to talk to Lenny, she didn’t say anything more. She hadn’t said she would not give a statement, just that she couldn’t write. And fuck, she knew more about what had happened than Lenny. Different things had happened to them, after all. Not that it mattered. She transitioned her distrust of the police from that day to the medical staff and jerked away from anyone who felt like it was a good idea to touch her.

Being alone without Lenny was not doing anything for Frankie’s response, and being so clearly completely at the whims of “authority figures” really just drove the nails into her nervous system. She was uncomfortable and while the medical staff seemed a bit less pushy, she still had to actually let them touch her. She didn’t like that. Besides her name, Frankie was only non-verbally cooperative after that point, all but shutting down so that she could keep breathing and not crying. She apparently needed to go to the hospital and get stitches, and they put something on the back of her head, but at the idea of getting something for her headache, especially since she now couldn’t actually sleep, she got angry and told them to leave her alone. Had she started with the ambulance, she probably would have been agreeable and docile, but now she was really not in any kind of mood for it.

Frankie ended up sitting in the back of the ambulance against the corner, looking at the door, waiting for Lenny. She didn’t think she had anything to say to him, and she didn’t have anything she wanted to do, but she still felt locked onto the situation at hand while he was inside and she had been politely kicked out.

Lenny was so through with cops. He was so through with everything. He glared miserably ahead, trying to ignore the pain in chest every time he breathed because he was trying to pretend it didn't actually exist. He wouldn't have said it aloud, but he didn't want to leave Frankie, either.

It didn't look like they had a choice.

Frankie was escorted off, leaving Lenny alone with the cop. He sent him a weak glare, lowering his narrowed gaze to the ground when he went through the motions, letting Lenny know it was being recorded. It struck him, suddenly. It made everything feel real in a way it hadn't done before.

"Um." He cleared his throat, blinking a few times as he tried to think how to start. "It's... it, um. It started..." He paused, taking a deep breath, and closed his eyes, "We were watching a movie. No - a, uh, a TV series. We were watching a TV series. I went to go get something to drink, um, then I came back... Frankie wasn't here, I couldn't see her. I walked in. The door was unlocked. And, um, I walked in and... I was hit. Around the head. This guy hit me. I didn't see it coming. I was on the floor, he was trying to get my arms and... Frankie came out of the bathroom shouting with this other guy. He grabbed her. I couldn't get the other guy off me, I tried shouting for help, but..." He broke off, glancing at one of the cushions from the couch laying on the floor, " He put a cushion over my face. I couldn't breathe. He kneed my chest too." As he continued, his voice steadily grew quieter, "He said if I shouted, he'd leave it on longer. He took me to the bedroom and tied my hands up. Then, the bathroom. Frankie was in there with the other guy. He was making her take her piercings out. The other guy came back. I tried to get out, I knocked into the creep who was obsessed with Frankie but, he had a knife, but... then I was on the floor. Frankie was yelling. They kept telling us to be quiet. The other guy kicked me, um, in the chest, he hit me. My face." His arms were still wrapped around his torso as he spoke, cradling his chest, "He dragged me back to the bedroom and then... he just waited there with me. I dunno how long for. I dunno.. what happened with Frankie. And then he left. Just, he just left. I got up, and found Frankie, she was there and she got my wrists free and then.... then you guys were knocking on the door and that's..." He took a deep, painful breath in, "I dunno why it happened. I dunno.. I dunno even what happened, fuck..."

Shock was taking over and he stopped, nothing else to say. He glanced over to the ambulance where Frankie had been taken. He hoped she was alright. She'd said as much, but... he still didn't know what might have happened in that bathroom and Lenny had said he was alright to try and dodge a hospital visit, when really.. he wasn't.

Her then refusal to file a complaint because it wouldn't change his attitude, Cooper didn't even reply, he only moved on with the ambulance there and ultimately having to get checked out. When she then mentioned not wanting to leave Lenny he looked back at the Ambulance at the edge of the property curb back to them on the front porch and calculated it to be about fifty feet. But again he said nothing and turned his attention to Lenny while the EMT's handled the whole injury side of things on her end.

When Lenny finally started speaking and it being recorded of course for both official and back up reasons in case Cooper missed something. Cooper instead when into writing mode, he was quiet and the only sound coming from his persons with the sound of pen scratching paper. it was a lot to take down but from what Cooper could hear it sounded like felony charges, assault, burglary, trespassing, and robbery.

Cooper of course didn't write down what Lenny was saying word for word, he left out curse words and all the ums, but he of course got the general story down. Afterward Cooper read it over his eyes darted left and right to make sure it made sense before he asked further questions. "Alright Mr Neroni now I want you to think carefully, take your time and no detail is too small or insignificant. Can you describe any of them to me, types of clothing, color of clothing, tattoos, piercings or scars or names they might have used for one another and if possible the type of car they drove?"

Cooper turned in time to see Frankie being attended to, partly he hoped she was better than what she looked like but he'd seen the look on her face before, he had that look and when he had it, he was not fine. But he turned back to Lenny, ready to write down any kind of description he could provide so he could put out a BOLO on these assholes.

It was really messed up that she was sitting out here. If anything, she had more information than Lenny. She was the one that had seen the guy at the strip club. Although it felt a bit displaced, it was connected. Oh, I was at work this one time, at the strip club I used to work at. And there was just this guy. He had like… what, a red cross stitched on his coat? Or whatever? Plus sign? Yeah, he’s got issues. He was just kinda staring at me, and I thought it was creepy but creepy guys come with the territory, right? Right. But then I left work and he was in the alley, and that was not good. So I told him to leave me alone and… Lenny helped. I mean, he hit him, but the guy wouldn’t let go of me, so it was self-defense… or… Frankie-defense. Close enough. And I guess Lenny basically messed up the guy’s nose. I’m told he broke it. I think his name was Brian. Yeah, Brian. And Jed… Jed’s a weird name. But that’s what they called each other. Jed was threatening me about not making it worse after Lenny broke Brian’s nose… fuck… She sighed. She had a whole scenario playing out, and it was easier to keep it back away from being alone with Brian. That was the part that started upsetting here

Going over everything that had happened just made Lenny want to curl up somewhere and forget about it all. He stared down at his feet, letting his eyes close and his mouth twisting from the pain radiating through his side each time he breathed, his arm wrapped around his torso in some attempt at support, when the police officer only had more questions. Hadn't he said enough? He exhaled in a shaky sigh.

"Um," he tried to think, but the events were already foggy in his mind, pain and warnings that had been thrown at him taking over his senses and leaving him with little else. He frowned, blinking as he struggled to remember things that had happened not hours ago, "The, uh, um... the first guy, the one that hit me. He was... I don't remember any names, I don't remember them using names. He was... he was kinda tall. I think he had... his face, a mustache. Some scars? Um. One... on his cheek. His hair was dark. And his clothes. Or.. his jacket. It was dark. No, it was.... it had a pattern, like a, a uh.. a camoflauge kinda pattern. The other guy, he was similar, I guess. Not the clothes. But... they looked similar. He was shorter. He didn't have a mustache... I... I didn't see him as much. I didn't see a car. I think... one of them said they were brothers..."

He broke off, his breathing slightly labored. "I... I can't remember anything else. I don't get it, why can't you just.. fucking look up their fingerprints or shit?" He glared towards Cooper, "They're probably fucking getting away right now, while you're here making us... see doctors or ambulances or shit." His breathing grew more harsh the more worked up he got, until the pain spiked again and he resigned himself to sitting and glaring darkly ahead of himself, nothing else to say. "Can I go be with my fucking friend yet?" He asked, eyes still glittering darkly at Cooper when he spoke to him.

Now when trying to get a description, a name, and identifying mark or something he could use or jot down, so far he got tall and with a mustache. Dark haired, a scar on the cheek with a dark colored camo jacket the other guy was clean shaven, shorter and were possibly brothers. This basically meant of Copper or the department found one he'd easily find the other. And it seemed to be going well, at least until Lenny got frustrated with the process going backwards to a concept that Cooper felt he'd already explained thoroughly with finger prints. Did he realize how many finger prints were in a persons home, how many things were touched, then the time it would take to process each fingerprint then compare it to those who aren't involved in the crime.

Then you'd have to run the prints through the system and if they'd been arrested before it would pop up, and if they weren't arrested before then they would not pop up. But either way fingerprinting would take longer than simply putting out a description and looking for them based on that alone. "We'll get to that Mr. Neroni." Only to further follow up with chasing after criminals without formally establishing a crime has taken place. "We will do our best to find them and prosecute them for their crimes Mr. Neroni. Thank you for your cooperation." When asking to go to his friend Cooper read over the statement a few times over, making sure he had the gist of it all before nodding to him, and gesturing over to the ambulance.

But he soon followed to go and speak to Miss Nazarro waiting for them to finish up on her before switching the statement for hers, filling in the blanks and standing off to the side of her. "Alright Miss Nazarro you're currently being recorded for documentary purposes, by Sergeant Tanaka. Alright Miss Nazarro start from the beginning like you're telling me a story I'll write it all down alright?" Cooper said waiting and watching for her to start.

Lenny had a temper. Enough so that Frankie was freaked out when he wailed on that guy in the alley, but not enough that she ever had issues with him on her own. He has a short fuse, but in her presence it was almost never violent. He didn’t take criticism well, and he wasn’t patient. Neither of them were predisposed to being great witnesses, but Frankie was likely better. She didn’t want to deal with people, but she was generally well behaved when she needed to be. Today was all the worse for putting up with people being rude.

She wanted to see Lenny. She wanted to leave and not deal with things, even if it meant going to the hospital. Instead she got the police officer whose opinion of being a jerk was that he didn’t care and to file it. So she wasn’t his biggest fan, but she also didn’t have unrealistic expectations about what he could or would do without information. So she could try to provide him with the appropriate information.

Start from the beginning like she was telling a story. She was still tired, but she’d been playing it all out so it wasn’t like she was at a loss for words. She just wasn’t sure how much was too much. “Okay… uh… well I mean, it makes more sense before today ‘cause… we met the one guy before. So, I used to work at the strip club, Stilettos, which was fine, but there was this guy who was being kind of creepy. Not abnormal, except when I left work one night he was in the alley and I’d messed up my phone and… he just kept talking to me. Like, he wasn’t aggressive but he was creepy and he wouldn’t leave me alone, and he grabbed my arm so I yelled or something and Lenny showed up. My friend. And they started arguing, my bag got spilled on the ground, and I think I left some of my stuff there ‘cause we didn’t want to stick around…

So that was part one. Sort of. Most of it. She leaned against her hand a bit more, “Right, anyway, so Lenny probably broke the guy’s nose. Whenever he wouldn’t let go of me. Uh… so we just ran away. And we didn’t talk to the cops, ‘cause… well, I mean, not the best time.” She blinked a few times, looking at him. He was the example, but she didn’t need to dwell on that. “I changed jobs, motivated by that incident, so I don’t know if he went back to the club. I didn’t want him to see me there and have an issue. Maybe he took my stuff when I left it on the street, I don’t know, but I didn’t have any more encounters with him until today. I had agreed to house sit for my friend while she’s out of town. She said I could use her TV, so Lenny came over to watch TV with me. I was out of alcohol so I sent him to the store to get some and then those guys showed up while he was gone.

It was a really damn long story. She felt like she was boring him, or like he’d cut her off, but she kept talking. Then again, he was robotic, so if he story stayed relevant, he would probably just keep recording and writing things, right? Probably. “So someone knocked and I figured Lenny just forgot something, because it was right after he left… but it was these two guys. The one from the club, and some other guy I hadn’t seen before. He was… bigger, and I’m not that big. I think he asked the other guy something, about ‘the guy that broke his nose’ which would be Lenny. And he said something about him breaking his brother’s nose, as in Lenny, so they were brothers, so that was basically meant to tell me to not annoy them? Because I was already on thin ice or something. He… I tried to close the door, so he pushed it over and knocked me down and I ended up stuck in the bathroom with the first guy. Brian. That was Brian. And the other, the bigger brother, he was Jed… which is a weird name.

It was an important distinction for Frankie, after all. Jed… just a weird name. Also it was easier to think that his name was weird instead of thinking about the creepy situation. She took a deep breath, “I hit my head on a table… when the door got pushed open,” She touched that injury on her face. “And the big guy was on top of me, he was angry at me, asking about Lenny coming back. He hit my head so I hit the floor again and… they were arguing about it, like the creepy one, Brian, didn’t want him to hurt me, and Jed was just really angry. So he left to check for Lenny or something, and we were just sitting in the dark in the bathroom… I should… have said something, I don’t know.” She really couldn’t afford to get upset that she hadn’t warned Lenny pre-injury. “But they were fighting and I ran out at one point past Brian, and the guy was on the ground, and then Brian grabbed me and pulled me back to the bathroom… then I was just stuck there with him alone… and he kept asking me questions. Like about my piercings. And he kept talking about someone named Stacey. I don’t have any idea who that is. But he really wanted me to listen to him about her. And about how my piercings are bad or something. Then at some point he had me in the bathtub, I mean, so I couldn’t run, then he turned the water on to wash me off… because I wouldn’t listen to him, I think. Then Jed brought Lenny in the room, and then Brian wanted me to take out all my piercings… Jed left for a bit. He came back and that’s when Lenny was arguing with them, and Jed tried to take him away, so he… hit Brian. Lenny’s arms were tied, but he ran into him. And Brian was holding a knife… and he fell into the tub with me and dropped the knife, and that cut me… which fucking hurt.” She had a cut on her shoulder from that, and scratches on her face from when he grabbed her face to make her be quiet.

He didn’t like when I made noise, but it fucking hurt. And then I was thrashing around under him and he fell on me and… that’s when my head started really hurting. It hit the tub hard I guess… anyway, Jed took Lenny away, and I was just stuck with Brian alone again. He just… talked at me a while…” she didn’t really want to get into it, and if she were telling a story, she would not get into it, “and he took all my piercings… I had… six in… he flushed them down the toilet. And I guess when he felt he’d made his point… he left. I don’t know why. I got up and found Lenny tied up and then the police showed up while we were sorting things out… it was weird.

Lenny just rolled his eyes at the officer when he was thanked for his co-operation, heaving himself up off the couch with great effort and pain and making his way over to Frankie. His expectations were unreasonable when it came to the police, he was tired, cranky, and had more of a short fuse than usual, though less energy to act on it.

As soon as he was by Frankie, one of the paramedics appeared next to him, encouraging him to get checked out. Encouraging turned to near-ordering, the paramedic firm enough and not willing to deal with Lenny's attitude and his mumbled "I'm fine. when he very clearly wasn't fine.

He let himself be checked out, mostly out of lack of energy to complain. He sat in the ambulance, frowning determinedly, just about able to hear what Frankie was saying over the paramedic asking him to do this or that and asking him to explain what had happened again.

"You need to go to the hospital. You've probably got fractured ribs, maybe other underlying injuries too, not to mention your head wounds. You need some scans." Came the prognosis, despite his protests. "You're struggling to breathe. The sooner we get you to hospital, the better. They'll need to check there's no internal bleeding. You said you were kicked in your chest - I can't just fix that for you with a band-aid and send you home."

Lenny was so done.

He sighed heavily, keeping his eyes closed and his breathing as short as possible, when he just wanted to shout and complain and rage about what had happened.

"What about Frankie?" He asked, quiet. He went to get up only for the woman to motion for him not to, moving in front of him.

Cooper wouldn't say he didn't care, he just didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with combative victims, people who were obviously hurt but didn't want help, people who wanted justice but preferred it to be done quick and without concern for due process, the law or justifiably. And in the end they would take more time than not, had there been less arguing and statement giving this would've been done but that was neither here nor there and it was rarely the situation. People always fought the process it was just the way people were, but at least he was making leeway in the whole thing.

When she started speaking Cooper started writing, and while he was writing the camera was recording, and he was listening and remembering what she was saying. Cooper only nodded as he wrote down much of what was being said, but he didn't care about anything that happened in the alley but more so Lenny breaking some guys nose in defending Frankie registered on the I don't care part of Cooper's mind, though he could've then looked into hospitals during that time for anyone with a broken nose but the lack of an actual date there would make it problematic. So far the story was aligning with Frankie's which was good news, and built into the why he left and when they showed up.

But then he finally got names, Brian and Jed he flipped the page to take a side note before going back to the statement to continue. In Cooper's head he was listing the offenses, forcible entry unlawfully entering a residence with the intention to commit a crime, burglary. Knocked her down but shoving the door, Assault. He hit her head on the floor again so there was assault. again which bumped up by a degree. Then she mentioned being forced into the bathroom and held against her will, Unlawful Restraint. When she mentioned knife and her getting cut it didn't matter if it was accident or on purpose he brandished the weapon in the process of committing a crime. Cooper had these guys on felonies already so they would be facing hard time.

When the piercing were mentioned Cooper quickly looked at her ears, lips, and nose and determined a question was warranted to be asked, because it could only strengthen the case to come and when she finally finished he then asked. "Alright Miss Nazarro, I have a somewhat sensitive question to ask ... what were the location of the piercings and did he remove them himself?" It went without saying since he held a knife, held her against her will, and took property belonging to her, he had him for armed robbery. Though soon Cooper turned his head to look over at Lenny now trying to make his way over despite a protesting EMT who was trying to have him sit down only for Cooper to remember the thing about the handcuffs.

"Mr. Neroni, she's less than eight feet from you she's likely going in to get checked out, please sit and let the woman do her job and help you. You're not helping by moving about." He then turned his attention back to Frankie to hear if she said anything about the piercings. Once he got an answer he summoned over one of the other officers to him with a silent hand gesture and when the officer was close enough to speak to. "Run the name of a Brian and Jed who are brothers, see if it's Brian from the assault last year in Autumn Cresent.. and have CSU run photos in the bathrooms and check the toilet flush handle for prints as well as the tub, we got justification for felony runs I'll notify CID in the morning to see if they want to run it or leave it on me."

The EMT's then offered Cooper a clip board of their own as he signed them, and was given copies of the injury report he could add to his report...

Although it wasn’t especially different, Frankie felt a bit more positively about the cop because he wasn’t currently upsetting her. He was just writing a bunch of things down while she prattled on in whatever was relevant to her to paint the picture. Cause and effect. Stripper led to alley, alley led to broken nose, led to grudge, led to all of today’s bullshit.

Somewhat sensitive question. Oh, goodie. Location of the piercings and did he remove them himself. Frankie moved her tongue around in her mouth, she didn’t like that question. Especially not with Lenny banging around complaining about medical treatment. She just had to sigh and let him distract her for the moment. After the cop scolded Lenny for being irrational, he looked back at Frankie, who supposed she should answer his question.

Uh, right… my piercings. Six of them. Uh, I have an eyebrow piercing, one hole in each ear, my belly button, and one nipple piercing on each side so… that’s the six.” She wasn’t actually she about her piercings, and probably didn’t sound it, but she did feel uncomfortable because of this very specific context, and thinking about being pinned in a bathtub under a knife. “He, uh, I took… I was taking them out but he was…” he didn’t need all the gritty details of how she’d felt, “anyway, I was uncomfortable, so that’s when Lenny ran into him, so after that he had me pinned in the tub and he took the last two out himself…” Thus was why the front of her shirt had been cut open after all. She shifted a bit, all the more uncomfortable thinking about that in specific. It was only going to get exponentially worse the longer she dwelled, so she was happy when the officer talked to someone else.

The EMT confirmed that Frankie was going to have to go to the hospital as well, and she barely registered it. She wasn’t interested in their verdicts, she was still stuck in this scene mentally. At least once Lenny had some medicine in him it would help her feel better. Speaking of which. “Uh, did you say we needed to sign things? For statements or whatever, after they were written?
