Hair: Short, Black
Personality Positives: To begin, Mera is very down to Earth. While she has a job that's a bit flashy and shows off her sexuality, most of the time she's very normal. She treats those with respect who treat her with respect, and goes about the typical routines of a good deal of other people in town. She likes to keep life simple outside of her job, spending time with her cat or whatever friends she comes to make after moving to Lochland Grove. She does have a flirty side though, though she usually only shows it when she is around someone she is genuinely attracted to (well, that and when she's at work to help get tips). Mera is also someone who loves animals, and cannot stand to see them mistreated. Though she sticks with her Beagle, Marco, deep down she wishes she could adopt every animal she sees. Finally, Mera is someone who loves to relax whenever she can, and takes that relaxation time seriously. When not working or running errands, one can find Mera at home watching TV or listening to music with a glass of wine in her hands.
Personality Negatives: A lot of Mera's flaws lie in her past. She came to Lochland Grove to put behind her hard past, full of people she is very cold to and even harbors grudges against. Now and then, this bitterness will manifest itself, as Mera allows herself to be haunted by it now and then. On a lighter note, Mera is very picky about what she eats and drinks. She hates beer, and is lactose intolerant, but there are a number of foods she just avoids for whatever reason. This has caused her not to have the best of diets. Finally, there are things here and there that will piss Mera off, and make it hard to control her temper once she does get pissed off. While these reasons are justified, like her getting mad at bigotry or cruelty to animals, she shows a very fierce side to her nature then.
Mera was born in Brooklyn, New York, in a primarily Latina neighborhood. Her father and mother owned a successful grocery store, and lived a comfortable lifestyle. She was very close to both of her parents, and love them nearly. However, she was very much a daddy's girl, and would spend a lot of time around him. He was always a happy, joking man, and he focused a lot of his free time on being with his wife and daughter. Mera especially loved hanging around her father at the grocery store. She could sit for hours and listen to him and his customers go on about this and that. Mera also looked at a life with a good education and a good career one day. Everything about her life seemed amazing... until tragedy struck.
Mera's father and mother were walking home from their anniversary dinner when they were held up by a duo of street thugs. When one attacked her mother, her father got angry and tried to fight for his wife's honor. In the end, the two were shot dead. When Mera, who was a teenager by then, heard the news, it ate away at her. Little did she know that things would continue to get worse.
Mera jumped from one foster home to another, and as time went on, she developed a rebellious streak. Her foster parents couldn't handle her, and just gave up on her. Mera soon felt like she didn't have anyone in the world. Finally, at eighteen she found herself on her own. Over the next few years, she worked a few jobs here and there, moving from one place to New York to another, but her bitter, rebellious attitude caused her to be fired from them. Finally, a little luck came her way when a woman saw her dancing at a run-down club and invited her to be a dancer at a high-brow gentleman's club in Manhattan. While there, she befriended another dancer named Elena. The woman had a good head on her shoulders, and saw the girl Mera once was. She helped Mera get her GED, and then gave her some advice that surprised the girl... to leave New York and find a place to start over. Elena had a friend in Lochland Grove she knew could help Mera. Mera took the advice, and left the city and its bad memories behind her.
Mera has recently moved to Lochland, with Elena's friend getting her into an apartment (as well as letting Mera adopt one of her Beagle puppies, which she's named Marco. Mera has also managed to find a job at Stilettos, where she plans to save money and go to college, which was another suggestion of Elena's. Mera has now been in Lochland around a month, hoping that she will indeed find her new life there.
